On Thursday, April 18, 2024 Alwyn Egidius D' Souza, age 77, died peacefully, surrounded by his caregivers the Sisters of the Missionaries of Charity at his residence at the Gift of Peace Convent, Washington, DC. Born on September 1, 1946 in Mangalore, India to the late James Francis and Letitia (nee Medina) D'Souza. He completed his education, earning a bachelor of science degree. In his youth he was an avid cricket player. He also enjoyed watching Canadian football. He came to the United States and held several occupations, most recently, as a machinist in the automotive industry. Devoted father of Arnold D'Souza and Donald D'Souza, both in Canada. He is also survived by his siblings all in Canada: Gertie Gonzalves, Sophy (Meryen) Coloca, Anthony (Lorna) D'Souza, Richard (Noreen) D'Souza, Christopher D'Souza, and Percy (Maggie) D'Souza. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by the Missionaries of Charity and his friends at Gift of Peace. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers: Rudolph D'Souza, Adolph D'Souza and Clifford D'Souza.
On Monday, April 29, 2024 from 8:30 am until 9:00 am a Visitation will take place at Gift of Peace Convent 2800 Otis Street NE Washington, DC 20018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:00 am in the Convent Chapel. Graveside Services and Interment will take place at 11:00 am at Resurrection Cemetery 8000 Woodyard Rd. Clinton, MD 20735
