Carlos Vicente Lara, affectionately known to many as "Tito," was born on October 2, 1954, in Lima, Peru. He passed away on November 10, 2024, in Silver Spring, Maryland, after bravely battling bladder cancer. In his final moments he was surrounded by his loving wife and children, with the music and singing that had always brought him joy.
Carlos earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria (UNI) in Lima, Peru, in 1984. After emigrating to the United States, he dedicated himself to build a strong foundation for his wife and three children. He retired from working at Asbury Methodist Village in 2020.
Carlos was a fan of soccer, following Club Universitario de Deportes and cheering on the Peruvian National soccer team. His love for music was profound; he not only played the electric and acoustic guitar but also the bass, the drums, congas, and timbales. He loved reading biographies, playing games of chess, watching movies and fixing cars.
Carlos was deeply cherished by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Lara, and their three children: Roberto Lara, Sandra Moreira, and Silvia Pillay. He welcomed into the family daughter-in-law Megan Lara (née Brittle), and sons-in-law Pradistra Pillay and Thiago Moreira. His legacy continues through his values and warmth ingrained in his grandchildren: Paige, Owen, Miles, and Diana. Carlos also leaves behind his siblings: Justo Luis, Elias Guillermo, Maria Josefina, and Elena Martha. He was preceded in death by his father, Prospero Guillermo Lara and his mother, Ilaria Custodio.
Carlos Vicente Lara will be remembered not only for his skills and interests but for the love, courage, and light he brought into the lives of those around him. His strong spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Falleció el 10 de noviembre de 2024 en Silver Spring, Maryland, después de luchar valientemente contra el cáncer de la vejiga. En sus últimos momentos estuvo rodeado de su amada esposa y sus hijos, acompañado de la música y el canto que siempre le trajeron alegría.

Su amor por la música era profundo; no solo tocaba la guitarra eléctrica y acústica, sino también el bajo, la batería, las congas y los timbales. Le gustaba leer biografías, jugar al ajedrez, ver películas y arreglar autos.
Carlos fue profundamente querido por su familia. Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Teresa Lara, y sus tres hijos: Roberto Lara, Sandra Moreira y Silvia Pillay. Dio la bienvenida a la familia a su nuera Megan Lara (de soltera Brittle), y a sus yernos Pradistra Pillay y Thiago Moreira. Su legado continúa a través de los valores y la calidez que dejó en sus nietos: Paige, Owen, Miles y Diana. Carlos también deja a sus hermanos: Justo Luis, Elías Guillermo, María Josefina y Elena Martha. Fue precedido en la muerte por su padre, Próspero Guillermo Lara, y su madre, Ilaria Custodio.
