Carolyn Ann Dibble

Carolyn Ann Dibble, affectionately known as Lyn, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, in Gaithersburg, MD, at the age of 81. Born on July 20, 1943, in New York, NY, Carolyn was a beacon of love and support to her family and all who knew her.

She was a devoted mother to her three children: Susan Vieson, Lauren Sauerhoff, and Craig Dibble. Her love extended further through her relationships with her caring sons-in-law, Douglas Hayden and Roderick Hamm. Carolyn took immense pride in her role as a grandmother, nurturing her seven grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Colin, Aidan, Madelin, Gwendolyn and Brian, each of whom brought her great joy. The joy expanded even further with the arrival of her three great-grandchildren, Brody, Camden, and Colton, who filled her later years with laughter and wonder.

Carolyn’s siblings included her beloved sister, Gail Downing, who provided companionship and support throughout their lives. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Donald Dibble, whose love and partnership shaped so much of her life. Carolyn also mourned the loss of her parents, Bertha and James Dooley, who instilled in her the values of hard work, kindness, and compassion.

As we remember Carolyn, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose life was filled with love for her family and friends. Her spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she left behind.

A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, 10:30 am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Historic Chapel, located at 11701 Clopper Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878.
