Chow Lee Lin

May 6, 1962 — October 9, 2022

Chow Lee Lin

Lee was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She passed away in the early morning of October 9, 2022 in Rockville, Maryland at the age of 60 years. She was strong willed, humble, and graced her loved ones with one final year after a debilitating stroke.

Lee was born on May 6, 1962 to Neng-Funn Lin and Mei-Fei Tsai in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. At age 16, she immigrated to the United States with her parents and two younger sisters while her older brother stayed in Taiwan for military service. Being the oldest child in the US, she believed it was her filial responsibility to handle family affairs for her family. She took care of her younger siblings while her parents worked into the late evening six days a week. In her spare time, she loved to read books, listen to music, and sing around the house.

To alleviate family financial burden, Lee worked after school to support herself and to pay for her own college tuition at the University of Maryland, College Park. Although she was wooed by many suitors throughout college, she met and married the love of her life, John Lin in (1986). Their enduring marriage produced a son (James Lin) and a daughter (Victoria Lin), both now adults.

Lee was a devoted partner in the family business, a homemaker, and a thoroughly committed international Buddhist master and teacher. She loved to work in her garden and give away the fruits of her labor. She also enjoyed exploring new gadgets and sharing her discoveries with others. And of the most memorable, her radiating smile and infectious laugh provided warmth and solace for anyone in need.

Lee will be remembered for her generosity, compassion for all living things, and for always being a person with the best intentions.

Lee’s viewing will be held at Thibadeau Mortuary Chapel, 124 E. Diamond Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 10:00am until the start of her ceremony at 11:00am, exactly one year from the anniversary of her stroke.

Masks are mandatory.
