Daniel Joseph Smith

Daniel J. "Fatboy" Smith, 39, departed this life on Saturday, July 11, 2020 in Germantown, MD. He was born on May 26, 1981 in Olney, MD to Gary Smith and Pamela Sullivan. Having completed his education, Daniel worked in the restaurant industry. Beloved husband of Thalia Smith (nee Thompson) and cherished father of Krystal, Daniel, and Caiden Smith. Daniel truly lived life to the fullest through spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed restoring old-school cars and was a lifelong Washington Redskins fan. He was always the life of the party and loved to have fun. Daniel will be remembered most because of his huge heart and kind gentle nature. He made friends wherever he went and rarely was seen without a big goofy smile on his face. Daniel will forever be loved and missed by all who have met him along the way.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Thalia Smith; daughter Krystal Smith; sons Daniel and Caiden Smith; father, Gary Smith; grandmother, Joan Sullivan; sister Christin Sullivan; grandson, Keygan; nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pamela Sullivan.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Thibadeau Mortuary Chapel, 124 East Diamond Ave. Gaithersburg, MD 20877. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 pm at Parklawn Memorial Park 12800 Veirs Mill Road Rockville, MD 20853.
