Gail Ann Eppard, born on July 13, 1939, and beloved by many, passed away on January 15, 2025. Gail’s impact was profound and enduring, leaving a legacy woven with love, strength, and warmth.
Gail dedicated thirty years of her life to serving the Central Intelligence Agency, where her commitment to her career was matched only by her dedication to her family. After retirement, she channeled her energies into volunteering at a church-operated organization called the Opera House, reflecting her lifelong desire to give back to her community.
Known as the glue that held her family together, Gail cherished the moments spent surrounded by loved ones. She was the heart of every gathering, orchestrating big family dinners and enjoyable get-togethers with friends, ensuring that each occasion was filled with laughter and lasting memories. Her house was not just a home; it was a haven of beauty and warmth, which she meticulously maintained. Gail found joy in landscaping, often engaging her husband and sons with her vision for their garden.
Gail is survived by her loving family: her eldest son Mark Eppard and his wife Patti; her daughter Lori Eppard and her common law husband Joe; and her younger son Kevin Eppard and his wife Donna, along with their family. She was also a proud grandmother to Emily, Elizabeth, David, Catherine, and Christian, and held great joy in her role as great-grandmother to their children.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George R. Eppard, her youngest son, Michael J. Eppard, known to many as her shining star, and her grandson, Daniel Eppard.
All memories of Gail are memorable and cherished, ensuring her spirit will remain alive in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love and commitment to family will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. Gail Ann Eppard will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A graveside inurnment service will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025, 2:00 pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20906. Memorial Mass to follow on Saturday, February 1, 2025, 10:00 am at St. James Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Dr, Charles Town, WV 25414. The Memorial Mass will be followed by a luncheon of fellowship and memories.
