George Chester, Jr

On Thursday, September 24, 2020, George Cornelius Chester, Jr. age 64 of Eden, MD died peacefully after a brief illness, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, MD. Born on March 2, 1956, in Salisbury, MD to George Cornelius and Fannie Lena (nee Kelley) Chester, Sr. George graduated from James M. Bennett High School, then enter college at Salisbury State College where he played football. George earned a bachelor’s degree from Salisbury State College in Social Work. George had recently retired after a successful career at Eastern Shore Correctional Institution, where he rose to the rank of Captain. After retiring, George served his local community by volunteering his time to help others in need. His interests included cycling, traveling, mentoring, Steelers football, and spending time with his family and friends. George is survived by his partner Krista Nilles, his children Shayne Allison Chester of Salisbury, MD, George Franklyn Chester of Ocean City, MD, Dylan Thomas Chester of Salisbury, MD and Taylor Nebla Chester of Salisbury, MD and grandchildren Marcella and Malcom. He touched the lives of so many with his huge smile, kind heart, and gentle soul. He will be so missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
