Harry Fremont Lincoln Jr was born on November 21, 1945 in Los Angeles, California to Harry Lincoln and Dorothy (Briggs) Lincoln. He grew up in a loving Christian family there. He went to University of California and Los Angeles and got a bachelor’s degree in business. He then spent a year at Biola and two years at Trinity Seminary near Chicago. He decided that being a pastor wasn’t his gift, so he started working for Los Angeles County. His initial job was to inventory a hospital destroyed by an earthquake. He had been very interested in taxes, so he then went to work for the Internal Revenue Service in Los Angeles as an auditor. The IRS at that time was recruiting for people to train in computers, and he thought that sounded interesting. He was accepted into a training program in the Washington, DC area and decided he really liked the technical field. He transferred to DC and worked for the IRS for 34 years in various information technology jobs. Harry retired in 2008 and had been doing voluntary tax preparation for AARP and Montgomery County. He also spent more time leading several Bible studies and doing other volunteer work at church; he was an usher and deacon treasurer. He loved classical music and was a volunteer usher at the Strathmore Music Center. Harry and his wife had moved to Asbury Methodist Village in September and were getting settled when he died suddenly of a heart attack. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Carolyn, a brother, John Lincoln (Pam) and nephew, Andrew Lincoln in Lake Forest, California.
