Henry Mastroni

On Wednesday, September 2, 2020 Henry Roger Mastroni, age 93 of Montgomery Village, MD died peacefully at his residence. The first child of Italian immigrants, Leo and Teresa Mastroni (nee Presutti), Henry Roger Mastroni was born on March 5, 1927 in Weirton, West Virginia. Henry served in World War II in the Merchant Marines and the US Army and again in the Army for two tours in Korea. He was the Director of Administration for National Presbyterian Church for 29 years and then with Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church for 11 years. He was a devoted Boy Scout leader for more than 60 years. He loved camping, cooking, photography, woodworking and traveling with his family. He and Sharon were married for 48 years in August. He has two sons – Hugh and his wife, Linda, and their three sons, Ryan, Nicholas and Christopher, in Texas; and Paul and his wife, Kirsty, and their son, Ethan, in Maryland. His younger sister, Viola Risdon, lives in California near her three children, Paulette, Howard and Terry and their children. A memorial service will be held when his ashes are inurned at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a camping fund in Henry’s name with the local Boy Scouts of America (www.NCACBSA.org/tribute), Montgomery County Humane Society, or your favorite charity.
