With great sadness, the family of Holly Evangeline Trotter announces that she peacefully passed at home in Montgomery Village, Maryland, on March 18, 2025. She was born and raised in Petersburg, Alaska, alongside her sisters Elizabeth (Beth) and Laurel by her parents Norman Doyen Tate and Evangeline (Vange) Jeanette Tate, maiden name Egland. She leaves behind her beloved long-time partner Olin Glen Horn, her two sons Brian Christopher Trotter and Geoff Daniel Trotter, and eleven cherished grandchildren.
Holly maintained a lifelong connection to loving and caring for all children through her initial career as a labor and delivery nurse, through raising her sons as a stay-at-home mom, and by continuing to knit and donate baby caps for local charities. Holly was known for her generous nature, often expressed through her passion for crafting. Her spirit will continue on through the many quilts she has gifted to family and friends.
Family and friends gather for a celebration of Holly's life on: Sunday, April 6, 2025, 1 pm-4 pm, DoubleTree Hotel, 620 Perry Parkway, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Holly's life on this dedicated webpage. Your condolences, stories, videos and pictures will be cherished by the family and provide comfort during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Holly's memory may be made to any organization dedicated to ovarian cancer research.
