Jose Maria Marquez Asturias

On Tuesday, September 13, 2022 Pastor José Marquez Asturias passed away unexpectedly in his Baltimore home, just a few days shy of his 59th birthday. He was born on Tuesday, September 24, 1963 in San Miguel, El Salvador. Husband to Ana V. Marquez and father to Jasmín, Rocío and Serena Marquez; grandfather of Raymond “Danielito”, Kataleia Annalise and Josiah “Joelito” Stewart. He was brother to Ana Ester, Salvador Jr., Jose Luis, “Toñita” Luisa, María Larios, Jorge Alberto, Tomás Neftalí, Catalina Paula, Flor Albertina, and Ramón Lazo. He was also a spiritual father and friend to many.

He is predeceased by his parents Salvador Marquez Garay and Antonia Luisa Asturias, his brothers Salvador Jr. and Jorge Marquez.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 pm on Friday, September 23rd at Templo Shalom: 8340 Woodward St. Savage, MD 20763. A vigil will then follow to celebrate his life and ministry. Interment will take place in his beloved hometown of San Miguel, El Salvador.
