Kathryn Ruth (Seely) Stuart was born on March 9, 1965, in Pensacola, Florida. She graced this world with her warmth and kindness until her passing on September 25, 2024 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Kathy's time on this earth was marked by courage, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to her family and friends.

Kathy graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of West Florida in1987, paving the way for a career committed to the well-being of those in need. In the late 1980s, she served as a social worker at a nursing home in Honolulu, Hawaii, where her nurturing spirit touched the lives of many. Transitioning to the Texas Department of Human Services in the 1990s, she worked as a benefits specialist, always striving to ensure that families received the assistance they deserved. In 2009, Kathy followed her passion for education, earning her Bachelor's and Master's degrees along with a teaching certificate in Elementary Education, proudly becoming a school teacher—a role she cherished immensely—until 2018.

Kathy's personality was a beautiful blend of warmth and strength. She approached life with a kind-heartedness that came naturally, always ready to be a compassionate listener or lend a helping hand. Her ability to remain courageous while facing numerous medical challenges showcased her tenacity and resilience. Despite the obstacles she had to overcome, her spirit never wavered, and her love for her family and friends remained ever-present.

For 38 years, she was a devoted wife to Jay Stuart, with whom she built a life filled with cherished memories. As a mother, her love for her children—Michael, Jonathan, and Julia—knew no bounds, and she took immense pride in guiding and nurturing each of them.

Kathy is survived by her beloved family, including her mother, Donna Seely; her sister, Melinda Scott; brother-in-law, Rich Scott; and her cherished nephews: Ryan, Jason, and Eric Scott; and Robert, Henry, and Al Jones. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Sharon Latta, brothers-in-law, Tom Flores, Andy Stuart, Walker Stuart, and sisters-in-law, Chrissy Flores, Sammi Stuart, and Lauri Stuart. Together, they hold dear the countless memories made and the enduring love shared. Kathy was predeceased by her father, Herb Seely, and her sister, Laura Jones.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathy’s life during a memorial service on October 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Glenmont United Methodist Church, located at 12901 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD.
