Kwabena Ansong

December 25, 1954 — April 6, 2022

Kwabena was born to Mr. Kofi Annane Ansong and Madam Efua Yiadomaa both of blessed memory, in Accra, Ghana on December 25, 1954. He graduated from University of Legon in 1974, with a degree in Economics and accepted a position as Marketing Officer at Ghana Timber Marketing Board.

He married his soul mate Hagar Jones (Hagar Ansong) in 1981 and were blessed with two children, Kofi Ansong and Akua Ansong and three grandchildren, Kade Rian, Eavan Marie and Aislin Grace.

Kwabena migrated to US in 1984 to further his education. He decided to pursue professional certification in accounting. He became very successful in his pursuit and became a fully Certified Public Accountant. In 1995, Kwabena worked for Gardiner Kamye & Associates PC as Staff Accountant and later secured an Audit position with General Accountability office. Working for the federal government, Kwabena took professional certifications and became Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). After 16 years with the federal government, Kwabena took early retirement in 2011 as a Senior Audit Manager. This enabled him to start his own accounting firm, Ansong & Associates, to provide accounting services to small businesses. His family lived in Maryland until November 2021 when (as empty nesters) he moved to Delaware with his wife where they lived until April 6, 2022, when he went home to his maker.

Kwabena loved the Lord and lived his life for the Lord’s glory. He encouraged his children to explore the beauty of the gospel of our Lord who died for us all. He was kindhearted, touched many lives. He will be dearly missed by, not only his family but friends, colleagues and all who knew and related to him.
