Lisa Thibadeau

April 17, 1961 — September 15, 1999

Lisa Charlet Thibadeau, 38, a physical education teacher at William Winchester Elememtary School in Westminister, Md., was pronounced dead at Frederick Memorial Hospital on Sept. 15 of injuries she received that day in a traffic accident on Route 26 in Frederick.
Lisa is survived by two children, William Thibadeau Dennis of New Windsor, Md., and Elizabeth Claire Thibadeau of Frederick, Md., her parents Dr. Robert T. Thibadeau of Rockville and Jeanette B. Thibadeau of Gaithersburg; three sisters, Theresa J. Watson of Marietta, Ga., Denise Y. Lankes of Charles Town, W.Va., and Paulette M. Ladas of Silver Spring,; four brothers, Robert T. Thibadeau Jr. of Gaithersburg, Richard W. Thibadeau of Washington, David L. Thibadeau of Thurmont, Md., and James J. Thibadeau of Silver Spring.
A resident of Frederick, Ms. Thibadeau was born in Washington. She grew up in Rockville and graduated from Woodward High School.
Ms. Thibadeau graduated from Towson State University, where she majored in physical education, and received a master's degree in exercise science at Western Maryland University. She began her teaching career in 1988. In addition to teaching in the Carroll County public school system, she had been a substitute teacher in Montgomery, Baltimore, Frederick and Howard counties.
Ms. Thibadeau Coached swimming through the YMCA and community programs and volleyball through the Frederick County parks and recreation department.
She was a semiprofessional volleyball player and a weightlifter and competitive body builder. She was a Maryland State Weight Class winner and a member of the East Coast Gold Olympic Weight Lifting Team.
She also was a member of the New Hope Church in Frederick.
