Mimi Kelly

Mimi Kelly, beloved mother of Jennifer Linn, sister of Peter, Walter, and Christopher Kelly, sister-in-law of Sandra Hays and the late Suzanne Kelly, mother-in-law of Scott Bowles, and aunt of eight wonderful nieces and nephews, died December 17, 2019 in Washington, DC. Born in Boston, MA, Mimi was the daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Hatch) Kelly. She received a Master of Fine Arts from Boston University and was an educator and award-winning television production artist and writer. Mimi was a proud mother, liberal, and environmentalist. She was also an active member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church of Durham, NC. Our wonderful mother, sister, aunt, and friend will be deeply missed. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on December 23, 2019 at Congressional Cemetery chapel at 1801 E Street Southeast, Washington, DC, followed by an onsite green burial. Memorial contributions in Mimi's memory may be made to your local PBS station, the Nature Conservancy, or other environmental cause of your choice.
