Lt Russell C. Gish of the U.S. Navy and 7 others who were on a routine flying mission around the Aleutian Islands went down on March 10th 1943. Their plane crashed in the area of the Aleutian Islands while serving during the Battle of the Aleutian Islands in WWII. The 7 others who were on board are: HENRY H ESTES, AP1, US NAVY, EDWARD F SCHMIDT, ENS, US NAVY, HARVEY H EGGERSGLUSS, AMM2, US NAVY, JOHN C HERRING, ARM2, US NAVY, JOHN RAMPINI JR, AOM2, US NAVY, LOUIS H SOMMERVILLE, AMM2, US NAVY, THOMAS D DUFF, ARM3, US NAVY. A Ceremony will be held in their honor at the Old Post Chapel at Arlington National Cemetery on January 30th 2015 at 11:00am with interment to follow.
